Let’s Face the Music, the title of the latest Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir CD was officially launched at their weekly practice last Thursday evening. Recorded by Chorum Records back in February in Preston Baptist Church, the choir spent many months preparing for the session. The CD contains 14 tracks representing their repertoire in recent years. With a mixture of well-known choir pieces to the less familiar, it provides a rich mixture of diverse music and song with something to appeal to everyone who enjoys the sound of a male voice choir. These projects involve considerable expenditure, so the contribution from this year’s Mayors Fund towards the making of the CD was very much appreciated. In recognition of this, Elected Mayor & Leader of Torbay Council, Gordon Oliver was the choir’s guest at the launch. The choir also acknowledges the photos for the CD cover donated from his wonderful ever-growing collection of photographs by local photographer Chris Slack.
The new CD will be available at the BOMVC’s next concert in All Saints Church, Brixham on Saturday 14 July starting at 7.00pm. Tickets for the concert are available at £5.00 in advance from Keeping Pets, 31 Bolton Street, Brixham, TQ5 9BZ or at £8.00 on the door. This year’s guests include Wadebridge Male Voice Choir from Cornwall and local Violinist Sharon Hubbocks.
