Choir enjoys rapturous applause in Paignton

To the delight of the Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir, their concert last Saturday (12th May 2018) was received with rapturous applause. Held in ‘The Church of the Sacred Heart’ in Cecil Road, Paignton, the concert was also attended by the BOMVC’s sister choir ‘The Riviera Singers’ with their Musical Director, Margaret Johnstone also taking the role as the concerts soloist. It is many years since the BOMVC has held a concert in this beautiful church and Rev’d. Fr. Mark O’Keeffe and his congregation made everyone welcome. Both choirs sang to a full church, enjoying the opportunity to sing a wide selection and range of pieces from their varied repertoires. To finish the concert both choirs joined together to sing ‘Let There be Peace on Earth’, enjoyed by all who attended. The concert raised £800.00 for Church Funds.

The choir’s fund-raising activities were further boosted the week before when at their coffee morning in the Christian Community Centre £441.00 was raised for choir funds. These fund-raising events make a huge difference to the choir and what it is able to do and once again thanks go to all who supported the morning and to all choir members and helpers who made the morning possible.
